When a piece of floral dress is collocated with a piece of black knitwear, you would look surprisingly sexy, mature and feminine. Look how Lindasy Lohan did it in the photo. With a pair of motorcycle boots in appropriate length, Lindasy Lohan demonstrates to us the magic of mixed fashion.

Every fashionista should equip her wardrobe with a sharp red single piece. This is because the sharp red fashion goes on from last winter to this spring. One would look exceptionally eye-catching with the sharp red clothes. Look at Rachel Bilson in the photo. She chose to wear the red suit with a piece of nude colored dress when she was about to take part in the Chelsea Lately interview. Also going out with a piece of sharp red top is Christina Aguilera. She dressed herself with a piece real eye-catching red knitwear top to brighten the darkness of the grey bottoming shirt and black jeans. The bright red clothes make quite a scene in spring, right?

Sexy Knitwear

LG Toronto Fashion Week is over - but the recent cold weather here has me going back to look at the knits for Fall 2010. I found these beautiful knits on the Fashion Television site. This was the first ever runway presentation for Line Knitwear . I'm sure we will be seeing lots more of them as these knits are adorable - sexy and fashionable.

Trend flash!

Winter orange is a joy of a quick flash trend. We all know it won't last but nothing beats a quick trend injection to a wardrobe to get that fab fashion feeling.

The best way to fix a fast fashion must is to buy at a price that doesn't blow the budget. I've selected a few orange items to have fun with ...in a flash!

Grown up & gorgeous

One moment it is all fashion flash buys with me then the next I'm on my make sure you buy beautiful items to add luxe to your wardrobe. The fact is the key to a versatile and fabulous wardrobe is this mix of quality with random injections.

When I open my wardrobe I am greeted by a seeming madness that defies belief. Colour, texture, print, patterns, sequins and a few too many white shirts for starters.

In the mix I have a few vintage 70s frocks from my mother, a bit of a DVF dress collection and my favourite little black dress a sequin number from the Isabella Oliver 365 Collection

And it is the 365 Collection that I turn to again and again in a personal and professional capacity. The quality is wonderful. My first introduction to Isabella Oliver was via the maternity wear and I admit I was slow to pick up on the 365 Collection because of this association.

When I got this season's lookbook I thought...I'll have the lot! Perfect, no effort required and I'd be all grown up and put together perfectly.

Such is the simplicity of the IO 365 Collection any item you pick will effortlessly blend in to your wardrobe without a care. If I had to pick my top five pieces then today it would be these (but tomorrow is another day...)

Swedish fashion scene

Rookies take over the Swedish fashion scene

The Rookies trade fair is one of the most eagerly anticipated shows during Stockholm Fashion Week. This is when up-and-coming fashion designers get their chance to shine; grabbing the attention of fastidious fashion buyers and the press. Fashion-guru Anna Blom picks out the hottest labels.

The knitting sisters
Created by three sisters, Karin Söderlind, Kristina Tjäder and Sofia Malm in 2004, Dagmar is one to watch. Named Rookie Company of the Year by the Swedish Fashion Council in 2005, the label also won Elle's best newcomer award at the Swedish Elle awards this year.

The Dagmar sisters say their clothes should last more than one season. Karin Söderlind: “The time span of a garment is an essential part of its quality, together with the choice of material and how it is made. We try to avoid short-lived fashion trends.”
Last season, Dagmar used materials like baby camel wool, an exclusive wool from the first shave of the baby camel often used by luxury international brands.
“We love working with fine, living fabrics - that’s our passion. The handicraft and eye for detail is typically Swedish for us,” Söderlind says.
Fashion – a family traitWhile other designers scour the world for inspiration, its streets, shops and cafes, the Dagmar sisters look no further than their own doorstep. Their chic and naturally stylish grandmother, Dagmar, made such a strong an impression on them that the concept behind the label was crystal clear from day one.
“We try to create fashion that differs from the general idea of what’s hot in Sweden right now. The women we dress have strong personalities and have already established their own individual style,” Söderlind says.
Designer Kristina Tjäder says: “Five years from now, I hope we’ve reached out to different parts of the world and established ourselves as a Swedish-international fashion label.”

A player among the rookies
The Rookies trade fair this year features a category for more established designers called Players. Helle Robertson Forslund, founder of Robert&Blad, is taking part in Rookies for the fourth time. She produces two collections a year for both men and women. The brand was founded in 1991 when Robertson Forslund opened a boutique in Malmö, southern Sweden. Her fall/winter 2006 collection takes as its inspiration the world of country music and consists of ruffled shirts, shiny waistcoats and denim. Her timing could not have been better considering the interest generated in all things country and western by the Oscar-nominated Johnny Cash biopic Walk the line, but according to Robertson Forslund it was just a coincidence.
“My ego said no when I heard the movie was coming out, but my business mind said yes,” she says.

Mixing business with fashionThe Rookies trade fair is just one of the many fairs and exhibitions taking place during Stockholm Fashion Week. Showroom Stockholm is another exhibit designed to catch the eye of buyers and agents in Sweden and abroad. The exhibition, which takes place in a car showroom in central Stockholm, was initiated by fashion journalist Britta Rossander. Dagmar, Robert&Blad and Ylva Liljefors (winner of Sweden’s prestigious Guldknappen award in 2002) are among the labels strutting their stuff this year.
